‘Princess Principal: Crown Handler’ Sequel Films Licensed for International DistributionOn May 6, Sentai Filmworks announced that it had acquired distribution rights to the Princess Principal Crown Handler film series. The series is based on the franchise of the same name and continues the story where the original anime TV series (also licensed by Sentai) left off.Sentai Filmworks describes the series:Following the attempted assassination of the Queen, manhunts for spies become a frequent occurrence within the Kingdom. In response, Control — the Commonwealth’s covert operations group — begins to suspect the presence of a double agent within the Kingdom’s royal family. In order to reveal the truth, Control dispatches spy ring “Team White Pigeon.” But danger lurks around every corner, and when you don’t know who you can trust, being a spy has never been more perilous for Ange and the rest of Team White Pigeon.The first film in the six-part series opened on February 11, after being delayed from its originally slated April 2020 premiere due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.The films are produced at studio Actas and directed by Masaki Tachibana. They feature a score by Demon Slayer’s Yuki Kajura. Their cast includes Aoi Koga as Ange, who was originally portrayed by Ayaka Imamura prior to her retirement in June 2018.
