While it has a slow start, I quickly found myself falling in love with The Fable. Thanks for the most part to its fascinating characters.

The Fable Episodes 1-25 Anime Streaming Review
At turns utterly hilarious, before quickly becoming unbelievably tense and dramatic, I was never once bored by The Fable, even sometimes forgetting how ghastly the animation was.

The Fable – 09
All of these people are tainted by the life they've chosen, even when they try and leave it behind.

The Fable – 03
I'll say this for The Fable - I've liked every episode better than the one before it.

The Fable – 17
I don't think you'd pick anybody in a head-to-head with Akira (or Fable), but Utsubo is clearly no one to take lightly.

The Fable – 16
In thinking about it The Fable is kind of what would happen if King of the Hill and The Coen Brothers had a love child.

The Fable – 24
What a singularly bizarre creation Akira is, but undeniably a memorable one.

The Fable – 08
Maybe the most dangerous thing in Osaka is a bored Youko.

The Fable – 10
The Fable is a living example of great manga's power to thrive with middling adaptation (but it does have to at least be middling).

The Fable – 19
What I found myself thinking a lot this week was how poignant this story can be.

The Fable – 05
While the humor is somewhat hit and miss, there's a generally absurdist tone to this material which I quite like.

The Fable – 11
With all these elements colliding, it would be a good time not to stand in front of the fan.

The Fable – 23
As much as anything, for me this is a series for viewers who appreciate acting.

The Fable – 18
Boy, this is turning into a hot mess now.

The Fable – 15
This was certainly the most linear episode of The Fable so far.

The Fable – 22
None of these people have any idea what they're up against with Akira.

The Fable – 04
It's a given that a series about people who kill for a living is going to feature not nice people.

The Fable – 07
The style of humor here feels appropriate for a series about gangsters, which is a rarity in anime.

The Fable – 13
There are times when a lack of style can actually be a style (whether intentionally or not).

The Fable – 14
I don't doubt that this subplot could turn dark, but honestly it seems like the whole Kuro arc is mostly going to be about comic relief.

The Fable – 25 (End) and Series Review
For the material at hand this adaptation worked very well, and probably deserves more credit than it's been getting.

First Impressions – The Fable
In terms of pre-season expectations, The Fable is the biggest premiere of the season so far.

Second Impressions – The Fable
There's clear potential in this premise, though for me it's more potential than realization at this point.
