Visual novel developer SukeraSparo announced last week that it is producing an audio drama based on its Yuri comedy visual novel OshiRabu: Waifus Over Husbandos. The studio is crowdfunding the project on Japanese platform CAMPFIRE. The project is scheduled for release on March 26.The crowdfunding project launched on February 4 and, at the time of writing, has raised 1.3 million yen ($ 12,500), exceeding its 500,000 yen goal with over 260 supporters. The audio drama, titled Oshi no Rabu Yori Koi no Rabu Akuruto Koi no Koukan Nikki, will vocalize a diary of love notes between series protagonists Akuru and Ren.According to SukeroSparo producer Shuichi Koga, a goal of the project is for people all over the world to enjoy the story. To that end, the project will be translated into English and Chinese and produced as a video with subtitles, similar to how the Kindred Spirits on the Roof dramas CDs were released.The audio drama will be released on Steam and other digital platforms. Supporters who pledge to the project can get a physical DC and translation file and exclusive rewards such as an audio roundtable file and a thank you note. However, the project is not accepting overseas support due to the availability of physical merchandise and shipping.Released in February 2020, OshiRabu followed Akuru Hayahoshi, an unlucky otaku office worker who inadvertently proposes to a random girl in a café, Ren Furutachi. This leads to Ren full0on pursuing the older woman, including moving into her house and sharing her bed. But Akuru has no interest in this relationship, and only wants to pull her favorite gatcha husbando. The visual novel received mostly positive reviews from critics, with praise particularly aimed at the visuals, characters, and LGBTQ themes. Here on YuriMother, the game scored a 5/10 with criticism drawn towards its story and excessive service.The game stars Yuki Nekomura and Yuki Kitaooji, who reprise their roles for the audio drama. The audio drama also features an original illustration (seen above) by the game’s character designer, DSmile. SukeraSparo is a Japanese developer known for its Yuri visual novels The Expression Amrilato and The Curse of Kudan. OshiRabu: Waifus Over Husbandos is developed under its sister brand SukeraSomero, which mission is “to fill the world with Yuri!”Look forward to the release of the audio drama on March 26 and play OshiRabu: Waifus Over Husbandos today in English on Steam, MangaGamer, and other digital retailers.
