How many times have you been really into a narrative only to find it rudely interrupted by a poorly timed or unhelpful flashback? I'll admit, flashbacks can be really well used but frequently anime use them as a short cut to character development and unfortunately they usually dump them in at the worst possible moment. Here are 3 reasons why flashbacks aren't always the best narrative device.
