One of Furuya's strengths as a storyteller is the ability to carefully and quietly capture real emotions of the sort that we typically hide inside ourselves; the insecurities that grow unchecked and cause people to misunderstand us.

Stalemate GN
Yes, you read the synopsis right: the main, five-chapter story in Toomi Aoyama's single-volume book Stalemate is a romance between a guy and his older uncle.
Sensor GN
Sensor is easily one of the strangest Junji Ito yarns to date, combining Christian mythos, Lovecraftian beings, and a Heaven's Gate-style cult.
The Villainess Stans the Heroes GN 1
There's enough potential that it may be worth a second volume, but this isn't likely to hold your interest unless you're deeply invested in the villainess isekai genre.
Springtime by the Window GN 1
For the most part, Springtime by the Window is merely okay. It largely fails to distinguish itself through its bland characters, cribbed plots, and mediocre art.
Came the Mirror & Other Tales GN
Even with limited character designs and plots that don't quite hit as hard as they need to in the end, it's hard to fault Rumiko Takahashi's shorter work.
Hikaru in the Light! GN 1
Hikaru in the Light! is an idol competition tale, and while its initial description and unfolding feels a little like Blue Lock but for girl idols, it's actually…
From the Red Fog GN 1
This edgy manga comes with a slew of content warnings, but is there anything to it beyond reveling in its own darkness?
The Decagon House Murders GN 2
The countdown has very much begun for the students on Tsunojima and they aren't going to all make it out alive.

The Elusive Samurai GN 1-2
It's clear that the story is walking a fine line between known history and wished-for adaptation, and the plot is relatively slow-moving despite a lot happening.
The Apothecary Diaries GN 5 & 6
Whether you read the original light novels, the manga, or both, The Apothecary Diaries mysteries are interesting enough to keep you turning the pages.
The Summer Hikaru Died GN 1
The Summer Hikaru Died ties everything together into a cohesive story where longing, loneliness, and vulnerability feed into the sense of creeping dread.
The Decagon House Murders GN 1

Semelparous GN 1
It feels more like the book is interested in gratuitous girl-on-girl groping than in exploring or creating a relationship.
Barbarities GN 1
Barbarities' first volume is an interesting opening to a political BL tale. The politics and the side romance may be a little more intriguing than Joel and Adam…
Black Paradox GN
Black Paradox can come off like a 'hybrid' or 'experimental' work, depending on how familiar you already are with Junji Ito's repertoire.

MAO GN 1
Takahashi's latest seems to borrow elements from her previous popular works, but does it add anything new to her tried and true recipe?
Wolverine: Snikt! GN
Wolverine: Snikt! is an interesting side dish that manages to wow visually while being mostly rote in every other respect.
SINoALICE GN 1
This manga adaptation of the popular mobile game gambles on a risky decision: to deliberately confuse its readers on what's real and what's just a dream.
