Adachi and Shimamura Manga Adaptation Debuts in EnglishOn Tuesday, February 23, Yen Press released the first volume of Moke Yuzuhara’s school Yuri manga Adachi and Shimamura in English digitally and in print. The manga is based on the light novel series of the same name by Hitoma Iruma.Adachi and Shimamura follows friends and delinquent students Sakura Adachi and Hougetsu Shimamura on their everyday adventure. Over the course of the series, Adachi’s feelings towards the other girl change to something beyond friendship.The publisher describes the manga:The second floor of the gym. That’s our spot. Class is in session right now, but they don’t hold class in a place like this. This is where Shimamura and I became friends. What is this feeling? Yesterday, I dreamed of kissing her. I’m not like that, and I’m sure Shimamura isn’t either. But…when Shimamura thinks of the word “friend”, I want to be the first thing that comes to her mind. That’s all.Yuzuhara’s Adachi and Shimamura has been serialized in Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh since 2019. It is the second manga spin-off of Hitoma Iruma’s light novel series, the first of which by Mani was serialized from 2016 to 2017. The light novels are extremely popular with nine books published in Japanese since 2013. They are licensed in English by Seven Seas Entertainment.A television anime adaptation of Adachi and Shimamura aired in late 2020. The series was directed by Satoshi Kuwabara at Tezuka Production.
