Hi Everyone! This is my Azur Lane Episode 12 Review and it is the Final Episode! As Enterprise and Akagi meet face to face, Eugen suspected that the missile from Orochi looked similar to their secret project in Iron Blood. Enterprise could sense that the missile is bad news and believe it is the same one that destroyed the abandoned islands. The missile was launched and heading toward Azur Lane Base. Enterprise immediately goes after it but Purifier catches up and started attacking her.Enterprise managed to destroy the missile but was knocked out by the blast and fell into the ocean. Purifier lost her body leaving her intact head colliding onto Edinburgh's head before floating in the sea.As Ayanami and the others were ready to take on Kaga, another missile was preparing to launch and everyone started firing at Orochi but a force field surrounded Orochi. Head Butt Attack!Enterprise started having another dream of Code G as she told Enterprise about how Orochi is the embodiment of all hated by humans and how war is in human nature in any era. Zuikaku protected Ayanami and went straight to Kaga with a headbutt that knocks her senses.Kaga realised she had made a terrible mistake and asked them to save Akagi. Zuikaku then told Javelin and the others that they need to work together to take down the Sirens. Enterprise also knew that this war has to end and reawaken her inner power. Laffey gave her Approval!Enterprise rises from the ocean with her carrier and fired a shot that causes Orochi to stop functioning. Unicorn also went around to tell everyone to work together to defeat the Sirens. Ayanami was also happy to see her Sakura Empire comrades and Laffey gave the thumbs up that they should work together with Eugen agreeing with her.The various factions worked together to take down the Sirens. Queen Elizabeth and Nagato also brought reinforcements and join the fight. As the war is reaching to its climax, Enterprise reached to Akagi and she finally remembers what Amagi told her and Kaga to work together for the Sakura Empire and their loved ones. Orochi/Amagi finally admitted defeated and told them "Arigato" before disappearing and the Sirens retreated. The Tester Siren was surprised at the outcome but claimed there will be more to come...Much later, Hornet and Hammann went to visit Yorktown and found her well and standing in front of them. Nagato has also decided to give a light punishment to Akagi since the whole Empire was responsible for what has happened. Akagi asked Kaga about the blue hairpin she bought for her and Akagi put the hairpin for Kaga. She said it looked nice on Kaga and they continued to walk together...Eugen reported to Bismark about what has happened and how this battle has given Iron Blood the advantage. Bismark then said that only those with power can save humanity. Eugen also told her Azur lane has welcome the Sakura Empire and Iron Blood into the ranks...Look like Z1 learn some tricks from Eugen on handling girls...Even the Bulins are here!I knew it that they will make a joke about Ark Royal and the Mutsuki Class Destroyers! It took me 12 episodes but I am finally in the Club!On Azur Lane island, everyone from different factions is getting along. Even Nimi also joined with Ayanami and the others for a picnic. As the leaders were discussing who should be the leader for Azur Lane, Enterprise stood alone facing the ocean as Code G reminds her that the war will go on but Enterprise told her that we can change for the Azure oceans will guide them...So after three months of delay, did Azur Lane had a satisfying ending? I will say the most part yes since they resolve the conflict between Azur Lane and Sakura Empire since these are the two factions that they choose to focus for this series. Even though I felt the last part where everyone comes together to battle the Sirens was resorted to still frames and even worse where Nagato and Queen Elizabeth brought reinforcements, everyone was in their 2D poses from the games. This show has three main protagonists - Enterprise, the Fox sisters and the three Starter Destroyers. The three Starter Destroyers are probably the easiest since Javelin and Laffey want to befriend Ayanami after their first encounter since she is not evil and is just following orders. Laffey was pretty smart despite her sleepy demeanour. She knows what she wants and that is making friends with Ayanami. Javelin require some hinting by Laffey and sure enough, when Ayanami was about to fall into a void, the two girls rushed to save her and after some bonding, they became friends. With Nimi now joining them, the Starter Destroyers is finally completed. (Nimi sure took this long to join them)Akagi is all about not letting go of the past after Amagi's death. When the Tester Siren tempted her to use the Black Mental Cube to revive Amagi, she thought she was doing the right thing in honouring Amagi but resulted in suspicious since using Siren Tech was already a bad idea, to begin with, and it got them into a big mess. Kaga also has doubts about Akagi's love for her as she was retrofitted with Amagi's parts and whether Akagi loving her was due to being a shadow of Amagi. Even though Orochi humiliated her and even followed her orders, she too learns the foolish of her ways and begged everyone to save Akagi. In the end, Akagi loves her for who she is and not what she was. Finally Enterprise who is clearly suffering from PTSD. She probably has been fighting for her whole life and perhaps when Yorktown was badly injured, she blamed herself and fought even harder then ever before. Code G also appeared in her visions and tempt her to give in to her inner demons which happened a few times in the series but she finally realised she need to take the first step to change herself and the war which she finally did it. Of course Belfast has a part of her rehabilitation which is awesome to see Belfast taking charge of Enterprise to support her in any way. The rest of the cast while not given much screen time also played their parts. The only thing missing was having a Human Commander to take charge of the girls. But then, it will be too similar to Kancolle which remind a silent character. If there was a Human Commander then this show will have a dramatic change with the Commander being the Ogami Ichiro of Sakura Wars who have to contend with the girls daily whims and complaints. (But it could be interesting too)In the end, Azur Lane has better characters developments and everyone played their part well. The only thing that Bismark of Iron Blood appeared at the final episode which was disappointing since fans of the mobile game were expecting her bad-ass performance. Maybe a second season if Yostar is willing to sponsor again?Since now the world is going through a lot of major changes due to the Covid19 situation, Stay Safe Everyone! Until then, see you in the next post!
