There were murmurings late in 2019 about an upcoming Death Note one-shot. With no new manga content for the series since the last one-shot in 2008, the human realm has been restlessly waiting. Now the wait is almost over. The chapter written by Tsugumi Ohba and drawn by Takeshi Obata was officially slated for release on January 4th. Consisting of 87 pages, it will be featured in Jump SQ. magazine’s next issue on February 4th. It’s been hinted that the chapter will see Ryuk’s Death Note fall to Earth once again, after the story of the original manga. We certainly hope we’ll get to see this on an international platform sometime soon.
