Abandoning his temple, he sets out on a pilgrimage seeking "The Way of Shattering Earth."  胡媚児 Kobiji (Hu Mei'er) - Daughter of Seikoko. She is a Daoist and a beautiful sorceress.  聖姑姑 Seikoko (Shan Gōgō) - A Daoist sorceress and a worshiper of Empress Wu Zetian. 劉玄 Ryūgen (Liu Xuan) - A salt trafficker. A fearless practitioner of the staff and Tanshi's master. 強鸞 Chōran (Zhang Dapeng) - Original name was Zhang Dapeng. A sorcerer who uses flame techniques. 慧會 Keikai (Hwei Hwei) - Head priest of Guangming Temple.  One of the salt traffickers.   李忠 Richū (Li Zhong) - Monk of Guangming Temple. A master researcher and explorer. 天竜僧正 Tenryū Sōjō (Tianlong Monk Master) - Head priest of the Shaolin Temple. Master of the Shaolin Drunken Fist. This is likely a title, not a name; little is known of the historical Shaolin Temple during this time period. 雷允恭 Rai Ingyō (Lei Yungong) - Leader of the eunuchs of the Chinese Imperial Court and a government envoy. Honorable minister.  九天玄女 Kyūten Genyo (Jiutian Xuannü) - A goddess that embodies the spirit of wisdom. Within Hakūn-do Cave, she appears as a halo of light. 袁公 Enkō (Yuan Gong) - An ape-man of unknown age. The keeper and guardian of Hakūn-do Cave. Minor Characters: 張瑾 Chō Kin (Zhang Jin)
